With a relaxed journey your holiday may start a little earlier. We like to think of the journey as part of the experience. Here are the best ways to reach us:
By train: Our nearest railway station is Feldbach/Raab, around 6 km from the Sonnenhaus, with direct connections to Graz. If you are travelling from Vienna, you can also reach us with a change of trains in Fehring. Find your connection (ÖBB)
By bus: The Thermenlandbus runs daily from Vienna to the region Thermen- und Vulkanland Steiermark. Bikes may be taken on board with advance reservation.
By (electric) car: From Vienna, take the A2 motorway and leave at Ilz/Fürstenfeld, then continue along the scenic #Route66. From Graz, take the A2 motorway and exit at Gleisdorf Süd, then follow the road through the Raab Valley.
Guests arriving by electric car are welcome to charge at our private charging station for a charging fee. The electricity comes from our own photovoltaic system.
On request, we can help arrange a rental car from Rossmann in Gnas. For rentals of four days or more, it is possible to arrange pick-up and return at Feldbach railway station. We are happy to help organise this for you.
An idyllic setting
The Sonnenhaus is located in south-eastern Styria, near Riegersburg, in the heart of the region Steirisches Vulkanland. Our country house sits on a hill in the town of Feldbach, surrounded by greenery. From here, you are able to explore the surrounding landscape on foot along the HimmelErdenWeg, with delicious stops along the way. Vulcano ham, Lava Bräu, Caldera cider and the restaurant at Kornberg Castle invite to stops. Cyclists can set off straight from the house and discover the rolling landscape on longer rides. And if you are interested in culture and history, the Styrian capital Graz is within easy reach. But above all, there is the simple pleasure of spending a few days in the countryside – and discovering how grounding a private holiday in the country can feel.
